FAQs
All classes roll on - we do not have a set start and end date, allowing you to attend as many classes as you like. As the place is reserved for you every week, you must let us know if you are unable to attend for any reason - this way you are not charged for non attendance if giving us 24 hours notice.
Yes! Everyone is welcome, however we ask that children stay with their parents and do not approach the other dogs in the class. This is for safety reasons and to allow the other dogs to concentrate in class.
We do have benches in the training areas. Children are welcome to bring along an activity to do at a bench if they do not wish to take part in the training.
No, you do not have to attend the classes consecutively. We ask everyone at the end of each class if you are able to make the following week, we then make a note of this on our register.

We have flood lights and portable lights to illuminate the training area in the winter.
Please bring along some tasty treats (chopped up bits of chicken or turkey are ideal) and your dog's favourite toy. It is a good idea to reduce your pup's meal before the class as a lot of treats will be used during the session.
It is necessary to bring your dog's vaccination certificate to your first class.
Please bring your own drink, if you would like one, as currently this can not be provided for you. Water is available at the venue for the dogs but feel free to bring your own bowl.
Please bring a standard lead, not an extendable or flexi lead and a long line/ lead if you have one.
"There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing!"
The classes are all outdoors for the most realistic setting compared to daily life and walks. We continue in all weathers and unless we contact you, training will be on.
If the class size allows, we shelter under the trees or in one of our cabins. We also have dog coats of all sizes for your dog to borrow during class if they need one.
Yes! We have a variety of different treats for sale which can be purchased from one of our trainers, or you can order via our online shop and collect at the start of your class.
We advise that your bitch stays away from training for 3 weeks. This is because she may be feeling a little bit sensitive and also so they do not distract the males in the class.
Exercise, Social Time, Daycare, Puppy Pals, Grooming and all 121 session: We require at least 48 hours for cancellation of all the above services - cancellations of less than 48 hours notice will be charged at the standard rate.
Classes: You must ensure to let us know if you are unable to make class for any reason with 24 hours notice of your class start time - you are then not charged for non attendance. Cancellations or no shows with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at the usual rate. Non attendance is best notified by email wherever possible - we do ask at the end of each class if you are available for the following session, but sometimes this can be misheard or not recorded immediately and keeping track of 100 plus dogs per week can be tricky.
During training, it is important to reward your dog with treats that motivate them. High value treats such as bits of chopped up chicken or turkey are perfect. But if your dog prefers other treats such as sprats, cheddar cheese or pâté, then go for it.
Yes - if you need the toilet whilst you are with us, please speak to your trainer who will show you where it is.
Yes! We welcome everyone to join in so that you are all "singing off the same hymn sheet". You are welcome to take it in turns to practise the exercises. We would suggest that the person working with the dog holds the lead so it is clear to the dog who they should focus on.
All our class times can be found on our classes page.
We have our own car park next to our training paddocks.
We are based next to Nowton Nursery, The Walled Garden, Nowton Park. The postcode is IP29 5LU.
As you come down Nowton Road with the main car park on your left, ignore this and take the next left. You will be driving through the park over speed bumps - please note the 5mph speed limit as you enter the park. As you approach the Walled Garden, you will see a sign on the wall ahead to the left of the gate pointing you into our car park.
We split our classes into beginners, intermediate and advanced. If your dog has not attended group classes before, the best place for them to start is in the beginners group, no matter their age. The trainer will then advise when they are ready to move up to the intermediate group.
If you have attended classes previously, please speak to us and we will advise you on where to start.
