Agility and Flyball Classes
Agility and Flyball classes are mainly run by Amy, Beth, Sarah and Alison. They are suitable for dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes as long as they are fully grown. Our agility/flyball sessions are excellent to keep dogs (and owners) active, to learn new skills and to build confidence as well as strengthen your partnership with your best friend. It is not a problem if you wish to move at a slower pace, and it can actually help teach your dog impulse control and patience. We are not aiming for competition level agility, our classes are purely for pleasure, we would like for you and your dog to have fun and enjoy training together.
We only allow one dog in the agility paddock at a time, this is so that your dog is able to concentrate better without the distraction of the other dogs too close by. We incorporate other elements of training into the sessions such as sit-stay and walk/run to heel. These help to build the foundations when running a course.
We have a non-competition standard flyball box which requires interaction from the dog. Dogs (and owners) are called out one at a time during the class to have a go in the flyball run if they wish to do so. If your dog is not interested in playing with the ball then they can run up and down over the jumps and collect a treat from each end instead!
